Tasks of the AStA

The AStA represents the interests of the student body of the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg.

The tasks of a student representation are roughly outlined by the Landeshochschulgesetz Baden-Württemberg and also set in our own constitution. 

• The perception of inner political, technical and interdisciplinary a well as social, economical and cultural concerns of the students,
• the participation in tasks of the Hochschule according to §§2 to 7 of the Landeshochschulgesetz,
• the support and promotion of political education and the civil conscientousness of the students,
• the promotion of equality and the reduction of discrimination and disadvantages amongst the student body,
• the promotion of integration of international students, who aspire a university degree in Baden-Württemberg,
• the promotion of physical activity amonst the students,
• the care of supraregional and international student relations.

Our work as AStA is according to our self-given structure parted amongst the two posts of chair in the board, who officially represent the AStA and are in charge of overview and external communication, and the financial consultant into the following areas: 

public relations, events, rooms and maintanance as well as internal communication in the Hochschule. The responsible people for each area can be found under „Members of the AStA“.
